Lisa Donata Marino Hafer (56) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 15, 2020 after a five-year battle with ovarian cancer, which she handled with strength, humor, kindness, poise and grace.

Lisa was born on February 18, 1964 in Mt. Kisco, NY to parents Louis and Donata Marino. She grew up in Wayne, NJ as the middle of five wonderful daughters. She married her beloved husband Bradford Hafer in 1993 and they raised three sons that were the love of her life, Clayton, Justin, and Nolan in Chicago, IL and Bedford, MA.

She received her B.A. in English from Gettysburg College in 1986. Her career in media and marketing included roles at 'GBH Magazine, TVSM, FX Networks and ITSMA where she developed many lasting personal and professional relationships. But her true passion was in helping others within her community. She was an active volunteer in the Bedford Public School System as a room parent, greeter, all-night graduation party volunteer and more. She was also deeply involved with the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bedford, serving on the vestry and coordinating their famous Advent Fair for many years. Always thinking to help others in need, she recently built an affinity for the Dempsey Center, an organization in Lewiston, ME that makes life better for people managing the impact of cancer, along with her energetic and supportive "Women of Steal" team.

Lisa loved being on the water, summering on Brant Lake, NY, the Jersey Shore, Cape Cod, Maine, or boating and snorkeling in the Cayman Islands. She also enjoyed hiking and skiing with her family in New England and Colorado. She was an avid reader, loved great movies and TV series, was a committed fitness buff and had a certain gift for storytelling. Most of the time she was simply happy cheering on her boys from the sidelines of their sporting endeavors, cooking family meals, and sharing stories of each other's day.

Her selfless nature, empathy and sense of humor allowed her to quickly connect with so many. She was blessed with so many true friends with whom to share her life. Lisa's most lasting impact will be how she touched and genuinely cared for everyone in her life.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Louis Marino. She is survived by many loving friends and family including her husband Brad, three sons Clayton, Justin and Nolan, her mother Donata Marino, her sisters Maria Dawidowicz (Zenon), Christina Ebersole (Andrew), Katherine Elbadawi (Sam) and Donna Moxham (Scott), and nineteen cherished nieces and nephews.
