Leo L. Young, 88, of Lynnfield and formerly of Lynn, died on April 30, 2019.

He was born in Lynn and was the son of the late Henry J. and Ida (Martin) Young.

After graduating from Lynn High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and severed during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1955. He was station in Okinawa for four years.

Following his military discharge, he was employed by Pan American World Airways at Logan Airport Cargo Division. He retired after 20 years with the airline.

In retirement, he enjoyed working on his property in the Northeast Kingdom. Leo also enjoyed skiing into his 80's, ballroom dancing, ping pong and bowling. One of his favorite outings was to the ice cream shops on the Northshore. His go-to order being chocolate ice cream.

He will be remembered as a loving husband and a kind and happy neighbor and friend. He attended services at the First Baptist Church of Wakefield, the First Baptist Church of Bedford and Tremont Baptist Church in Boston.

He was the beloved husband of Dolores Salimbay-Young, brother of the late Henry J. Young, uncle of Henry J. Young Jr., Patrick Young and Christine King and many cousins.

A memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church, 155 Concord Rd., Bedford, on Sat., June 1, at 5:00 P.M.
