Leatha "Lee" F. Lathrop, 76, of Bedford, died unexpectedly on October 19, 2024.

Born to the late Edgar P. Farnell and Virginia Chase, Lee grew up in Stonington, Connecticut, where she attended local public schools.

Lee had a lifelong love for the ocean and outdoor adventures, particularly horseback riding and waterskiing in her younger years. She was also an avid reader and loved animals, especially cats. Her garden was her haven and it was beautiful.

In the early 1970's, Lee moved to Bedford, where she lived for over 50 years and built a remarkable life. With her entrepreneurial spirit, she founded Lathrop Home Health Care, a business dedicated to providing compassionate care, reflecting her deep commitment to helping others.

Lee was an active member of the Unitarian Church in Bedford, where she forged lasting connections and friendships. She had a remarkable talent for maintaining lifelong friendships, organizing yearly trips with her elementary school friends that became treasured traditions.

She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Molly Connor. Lee is survived by her life partner, Vivian Chopelas, her sister, Dara Karas of Connecticut, John Marcus Lathrop and his wife Rebecca, along with their children, John and Lucas. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Monday, October 28, from 4:00-7:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 29, at 11:00 AM.
