Julie Hannaford, 68, lifelong resident of Carlisle, died August 28, 2024.

Julie was born in Concord on November 29, 1955, to the late Lillian (Rich) and Frank Hannaford.

She grew up on the family farm on Prospect Street in Carlisle and attended Carlisle Public Schools. She graduated from Wayland High School.

With her father's help, she secured a job at Hanscom Field and retired at age 56 after 32 years of working as a library technician.

In 2016, she moved from the family home to Church Street, so that she could walk to the Carlisle Congregational Church every Sunday. One Sunday, when she was still living at home, it had snowed, and the power was out. She drove to the church and said that about 6 people had weathered the conditions to attend Sunday services.

She was a very active member of the church and participated in pancake breakfasts, registration for Vacation Bible School and other events and activities.

Julie enjoyed collecting things and doing word searches, and after dinnertime she could be found in front of the TV watching animal shows and old cartoons.

She is survived by her brother, Dana E. Hannaford of Carlisle, 5 nieces and nephews and many church friends.

She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Hannaford and sister, Genevieve Kruger.

A graveside service will be held at Green Cemetery, Bedford St., Carlisle, on Thursday, September 5, at 10:15 AM. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Carlisle Congregational Church, 147 School St., Carlisle.
