Joyce A. Weinfurt, 71, of Bedford, passed away on May 24, 2018, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family and siblings.

She was born in Newton and was the oldest of five children of the late Alfred J. and Alice I. (Umina) Smith.

Her family moved to Bedford in 1962 and Joyce was a member of the Bedford High School Class of 1966.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Weinfurt, her four children and their spouses, Joan Aucoin and Michael of Billerica, MA, David Weinfurt and Marie of Union Vale, NY, Patricia Bowman and Greg of Mount Airy, MD and Jeffrey Weinfurt and Stephanie of Bolton, MA, her siblings, Bruce Smith of Londonderry, NH, Joan Laurenti of Ft. Myers, FL, Barbara Smith-Clear of Kingston, MA and Kenneth Smith of Yarmouth, MA., her grandchildren, Cameron, Joseph, Danielle, Matthew and John as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her greatest joy was being Nana to her grandchildren.

Joyce and Walter were married in 1968 and would have celebrated their 50 ^th wedding anniversary this coming September.

After raising her family, Joyce enjoyed a second career as a program financial analyst at Air Force Research Laboratory, Hanscom Air Force Base retiring in 2009.

Joyce enjoyed entertaining family, friends and neighbors, she was an avid homemaker known especially for her cooking skills. She will also be remembered for her flower gardens and decorating her home for the holidays. She also enjoyed volunteering her time and talents in community activities.

She was a long-time parishioner at St. Michael Parish where she was also the altar server coordinator for several years.

Funeral from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Saturday, June 2, at 8:00 AM, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9:00 AM.

Visitation at the funeral home, on Friday, June 1, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
