Josephine C. Caporizzo, 99, of Bedford, died unexpectedly on September 12, 2022.  She grew up in Lexington and was the daughter of the late Dominic and Lillian (Belladonna) Iovino.

In 1951, she married Alexander V. Caporizzo at St. Michael Church in Bedford and had lived in Bedford since.  In earlier years, she worked at Fort Devens as a civil service secretary but dedicated most of her life to raising her four children.  She loved cooking, gardening, and wine making and remained physically active her entire life.

She is survived by her children, Karen Caporizzo of Bedford, Alexander V. Caporizzo Jr. and his wife Marilyn of Chelmsford, John Caporizzo and his wife Christine of Billerica and Debra Caporizzo of Billerica, her sisters, Frances Falcione, Jean Iovino, Ruth Benoit, Violet Foster, Esther DiLuca, and Nadine Kostriza, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Alexander V. Caporizzo, her sister, Mary Kennard and brothers, Dominic Iovino Jr. and Pasqualino Iovino.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Monday, September 19, from 4:00-7:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held at Shawsheen Cemetery, corner of Shawsheen Rd. and Great Rd., Bedford, on Tuesday, September 20, at 11:00 AM.
