James Peter Harrington, known to many as Jim, born at Faulkner Hospital, Boston, MA on January 14, 1964, died suddenly at age 51 of heart complications on September 20, 2015, in Bedford, MA while playing basketball with his friends.
He is survived by his father and mother, Peter F. and Joan E. Harrington; his two children, Matthew Alden and Kyle James and their mother, Caroley Parsons; his siblings and their spouses, John G. and his wife, Sarah (Van Buskirk) Harrington; Maura J. Harrington and her husband, Thomas R. Tucker; and Matthew P. Harrington; his partner and close friend, Tammy Ghizzoni and her son, Tyler; four nieces and nephews: Maeve, Frances, Nicholas, and Johnny; 23 first cousins, and many close second cousins, aunts and uncles.
Jim received a BS degree in Liberal Arts from Boston University and a JD in Law from Suffolk University. He was a partner at Harrington & Harrington Law firm in West Newton, MA for almost 20 years.
Jim was an active member and past president of the Boston Chapter of the American Inns of Court and a former member of the Bedford Conservation Commission. He was a loving father and long-time coach for more than a decade of his sons' baseball, basketball and football teams. He was a second-degree black belt who loved all sports. Jim Harrington was known as a colleague, a friend, a coach, and most of all, a loving father who gave everyone all of his advice and unconditional love. We will love him forever, may he rest in peace.
The wake will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Road, Bedford, MA on Thursday, September 24, 2015, from 2-5 pm and on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 2 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9 pm. The funeral Mass will be on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 11 am at St. Irene Catholic Church, located at 187 East Street, Carlisle, MA.
