Dr. James J. Carroll, age 87, of Bedford, formerly of Arlington and Lexington died on September 7, 2013.

Loving husband of Lucilia (DeSouza) Carroll. Devoted father of Richard Carroll and his wife Eileen. Cherished grandfather of Shannon, Christina, Christian, and Blake, and revered great-grandfather of Adriana. Loving brother of Florence (Carroll) Harris.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, Sept. 12, at St. Bridget's Church, 1979 Massachusettts in Lexington.

Interment to follow at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.

Graduate of Lexington High School Class of 1943. Honorably discharged US Army WWII Veteran.
