Ita E. Baird, 84, of Bedford, died on October 22, 2017 at the Carleton-Willard Village in Bedford.

Mrs. Baird was born in Boston on January 9, 1933, and she was the daughter of the late William and Josephine (Smith) Hanna.

She had worked at Woolworth's in Lexington and Bedford and served as the volunteer transportation coordinator for the Council on Aging in Bedford for many years. She retired in 2013.

She was predeceased by her husband, Irving R. Baird, her sister, Mae Curtis and niece, Kathleen Curtis.

She is survived by two nephews, Michael and Kevin Curtis, one great nephew, Joshua and three great nieces, Megan, Maggie and Erin and many close friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, on Saturday, October 28, at 9:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bedford Council on Aging, 12 Mudge Way, Bedford, MA 01730.
