Ida F. Smith of Bedford and Florida, passed away peacefully in Florida on May 21, 2020 of natural causes.

Ida was born in Bedford, Massachusetts to Lavinia and Innocenzo (Tony) Palmeri. Ida was the last survivor among six children, Mary (Palmeri) Smith and Orlando, Mario, Edmund and Dominic Palmeri.

She was preceded by her late husband Raymond (Ray) who died on November 10, 2011.

Ida graduated from Lexington High School.  Her first job was a secretary for Aetna Insurance. From there Ida worked for Raytheon for two years and then went to work for The Veterans Administration from which she retired 30 years later.

She was a member of St. Michael Parish in Bedford.

Ida leaves many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, as well as many great great nieces and nephews, who will all miss her terribly. Ida made so many lifelong friends at Ocean Resorts where she resided for many years.

A graveside service will be held at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford at a later date.
