Holly Nesmith Fordyce died August 12, 2014 after a short illness at age 75. She was born on July 9, 1939 in Cambridge, MA to Fisher Nesmith and Pauline Agassiz Shaw. Holly is survived by her husband of 36 years, Barry W. Ohs of Carlisle, MA, her son, Cameron S. Fordyce, of Lucca, Italy, her daughter, Hilary H. Fordyce of Coatsville, PA, her grandchildren, Ilaria Fordyce and Lucinda J. Donaldson, her sisters, Pan Lockett of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Jennifer G. Ryan of Peterborough, NH, and brother Geoffrey C. Greene of New York, NY.
Holly graduated from Concord Academy, Bradford Jr. College and Fitchburg State. She received her Master's in Clinical Social Work (MSW) degree with honors from Boston College. She was in private practice for many years. Holly's career encompassed work at Emerson Hospital and private practice in the Concord, MA area. She lived most of her life in Concord and Carlisle, MA.
Holly's life was filled with many interests and activities. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, she wrote a book on the healing power of nature.
Some of her passions included writing poetry, nature photography and riding her horse, Roller. Through her riding, she developed wonderful friendships.
There will be visiting hours at the funeral home on Friday, August 15, from 5-7 P.M. A graveside service will be on on Saturday, August 16, at 11 A.M. at Green Cemetery, Bedford Rd., Carlisle.
