Obituary

Helene L. Nolan, 87, of Bedford, died on May 10, 2013, at the Carleton-Willard Village in Bedford.

Mrs. Nolan was born in Cambridge and was the daughter of the late Ralph H. and Dorothy S. (Beaumont) Johnston.

Mrs. Nolan was a graduate of Arlington High School and attended Pierce Secretarial School in Boston. In 1952, she moved to Bedford to raise her family and worked as an office manager for the Weather Services in Bedford for many years.

Mrs. Nolan was an active member of St. Michael's Parish with her late husband, John including the Catholic Family Movement.

An accomplished pianist and organist, she was still playing the piano beautifully for the Carleton-Willard residents until a few weeks ago. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.

Her husband, John J. Nolan died in 2001 in Dennis, Mass. where they lived in retirement for 25 years.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ann LeBlanc and Ralph of Nashua, NH, Chris Nolan and Helen of Bedford, Barbara Nolan and Charles Duarte of Lowell, Catherine Hooper and William of Bedford, Elizabeth Williams and Richard of Westford
and Dorothy Rondeau also of Bedford; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Phyllis Olsen and Ruth Jensen.

Her funeral will be held from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, on Fri., May 17, at 8:00 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9:00 A.M. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thurs., May 16, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
