Harold W. Russell, 94, died on February 11, 2014, in Peabody, MA.
Mr. Russell was born in Cambridge on June 5, 1919, and was the son of the late William F. and Lorena Russell.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Russell has been a Bedford resident since 1962 and worked for Raytheon in Bedford for over twenty years. He also worked at Peter Fuller's Cadillac Olds as well as in Lawrence and Watertown car detailing.
He is survived by his loving wife Thelma (Lassiter) Russell, two sons, Mark and Carl Russell both of Bedford, his sister, Rosemarie Whittenberg, grandchildren, Darrell Fournier and Deborah Russell and great grandson, Izayah Gauntlett.
He was predeceased by his son, Harold W. Russell, Jr. and brother, William F. Russell
Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, Sunday from 4:30-7:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Harold Russell Sr. Memorial Fund at the First Baptist Church, 155 Concord Rd, Bedford, MA 01730.
