Frederic C. R. Steward, age 88 of Billerica, formerly of Bedford, passed away March 22, 2016.
Mr. Steward was born in Somerville, MA, on October 1, 1927, and he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Moore) Steward and brother of the late Ernest M. and Harry E. Steward.
He was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1945.
He was a proud veteran of both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army, serving during the end of World War II and during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Steward was a retired vice president of Fiduciary Trust Co. in Boston, where he employed for 45 years.
He was a lifelong member of Trinity Church in Boston and was married to his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Price, there on September 24, 1949.
He was an active and longtime member of the Joseph Webb Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Boston, and was a Past Master. He was also a member of St. Paul's Royal Arch Chapter and the Boston Commandery.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Price) Steward, daughter, Cheryl Johnson and her husband, Doug of Bedford and their children, Derek and his wife, Michelle, Kevin, Scott and Lauren Johnson all of Bedford.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm St., Concord, on Fri., April 1, at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Thurs., March 31, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Private interment will be at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
