Everett A Johnston, of Westford, MA, formerly of Warwick, RI died peacefully on March 26, after a long illness.

Beloved husband of the late Carol M. (Gustafson) Johnston. Son of James J. Johnston and Grace Helen Merrill. Graduate of Samuel Gorton High School 1955 and was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. After the Navy, he earned an electrical engineering degree from Northeastern University and spent his early career with MIT in the Space Program of the 1960's. His later years were spent at Harvard-Smithsonian Center of Astrophysics in the study of Radar Astronomy in Cambridge, MA.

He was a Past Master of the Frank W. Thompson Masonic Lodge and served as a long-time ritualist for the lodge. He was also a District Deputy Grand Marshall, District Deputy Grand Master and a Shriner.

He is survived by his three sons and spouses, Steven and Cindy Johnston of Cumberland, ME, Eric and Michelle Johnston of Hudson, NH and Curt and Karen Johnston of Kensington, NH, five grandchildren, Kimberly, Alexandra, Samuel, Calvin and Eleanor Johnston, his brother, Bernard and his wife Bernice of Warwick, RI and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, MA, on Sat., April 1, from 9:00-11:00 AM concluding with a Masonic service at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1 Rhode Island Ave, Johnston, RI, at 2:00 PM.
