Eric H. Chipman, 59, of Chelsea and formerly of Lexington, died on December 8, 2017.

He was raised in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School in 1977. Eric went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Plymouth State in Plymouth, New Hampshire.

He worked at Tufts University in Medford for many years as a medical waste manager.

Eric was a longtime member of The First Parish of Watertown and was a founding member of the church choir. Music was very important to Eric, he enjoyed signing with choral groups and was a member of the Masterworks Chorale of Cambridge.

Eric was predeceased by his mother, Marcia (Doolittle) Chipman.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, David R. Chipman and Helen Folweiler of South Dartmouth and Bedford, his brother, David H. Chipman and his wife Jane of Morgan Hill, CA, his nephew, Brian and niece, Melissa.

A memorial service will be held at The First Parish of Watertown, 35 Church St., Watertown, MA on January 20, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
