Ellen F. Roberts, 69, of Bedford and Chatham, died on November 25, 2016, in Boston.

Ellen was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late William and Doris (Delehanty) Fitzgerald.

She was raised in Needham and was a graduate of Needham High School and Northeastern University, Class of 1968, where she received her B.A.

She was employed as a software engineer in the computer industry, working at Honeywell in Billerica, Policy Management Systems and Computer Sciences Corporation both in Boston.

Ellen has been a resident of Bedford since 1971, she was a member of St. Michael's Parish and enjoyed spending time with her family, her good friends and neighbors. She also loved reading and photography.

She was married in 1968 to John J. Roberts Jr. at St. Cecilia's Church, Boston.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John, her loving daughters and their spouses, Amy and Nick Bruning of Carlisle and Alison and Bobby Howard of Medfield and cherished grandchildren, Chloe, Anna, Peter, Samantha and Jackson.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Doris and brother, Walter Fitzgerald.

Her funeral will be held from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Wednesday, November 30, at 8:00 AM, followed by funeral Mass in St. Michael's Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9:00 AM. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 29, from 4:00-8:00 PM
