On November 13, 2016, Elizabeth "Bette" Ann (Mansfield) Ladd died peacefully at the Woburn Nursing Center, MA, after a brief illness. She was born in New London, CT, on July 5, 1922, graduated from the Williams School, and married Leon Clinton Ladd, Jr. They lived in Waterford, CT for many years. She also lived in Massachusetts for several years at the end of her life. She worked for Mallove's Jewelers and City Coal Company, among others.

Bette was predeceased by her husband, Leon C. Ladd Jr. and her two brothers, Robert and John "Jack" Mansfield. She is survived by her two sons, Lawrence of Lexington, MA, and David of Mexico, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
