Elizabeth Laura (Powderly) O'Connell, 92, longtime resident of Bedford, died peacefully on Sept 5, 2013, in Chelmsford.

Beloved wife of 65 yrs of the late Robert T. O'Connell. Betty and Bob were longtime active members of St. Michaels Church in Bedford.

Betty was born in Cambridge in 1921 to Richard and Ethel Powderly.

Beloved mother of Robert (Donna) of Brookline, NH; Maureen Sullivan (Danny) of N. Chelmsford; Elizabeth Macone (John) of Brooklin, ME; Kathleen Stanick (Ron) of Nashua, NH; Kevin (Gayle) of Greenfield, NH; Ann Marie Sullivan (Bob) of Lakewood, CO; and Eileen Yanchewski (Mark) of Maynard. Predeceased by son-in-law Kevin Waldron. Loving sister of Robert Powderly and Ethel Pellerin and the late Ruth Johnston, Marion McGrath, Doris Litchfield, Frances Sullivan, Kenneth, Richard and Paul Powderly. Cherished Nana to 20grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd. Bedford, Mon., Sept. 9 at 8 am followed by a funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9 A.M. Visitation at the funeral home, Sun., Sept. 8 from 4 to 8 P.M.
