Obituary

Edward B. Scheipers Jr., 87, a longtime resident of Bedford, died suddenly on November 3, 2012.

Mr. Scheipers was born in Lawrence, Mass. on April 22, 1925, to the late Edward B. and Harriett (Dowd) Scheipers.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a navigator during World War II. A First Lieutenant, he was stationed in England and flew 35 missions over Germany.

He graduated from Norwich University as an electrical engineer and worked for New England Telephone Company for 30 years.

A parishioner at St. Michael's Church, he was a member and Past President of the Holy Name Society, former member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Eucharistic minister and altar server for many years.

He was the devoted husband of Marguerite "Peg" (Flynn), loving father of two sons, Paul of Lunenberg and his wife, Anita, and Edward of Newmarket, NH, dear grandfather of Jennifer Schelly and her husband, Neil of Merrimack, NH, Gregory of Washington, D.C., Andrew of Chelmsford, Evan of Newmarket, NH. Also survived by stepgrandson, Matthew Livingstone of Philadelphia, PA, and great granddaughter, Lily of Chelmsford. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Valerie.

His funeral will be held from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, Tues., Nov. 6, at 8:00 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9:00 A.M.

Visitation will be on Mon., Nov. 5, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Interment will be in Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Parish, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, MA 01730 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527 New York, NY 10163.
