Edith V. Ayers, 91, a former resident of Bedford and Carlisle, died on Sept. 17, 2014, in Concord.
She was born in West Windsor, Vermont on Sept. 9, 1923, and she was the daughter of the late Merton and Marion (Dutton) Ayers.
While living in Bedford, she was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital for 35 years in laundry services.
She was a former member of The First Baptist Church of Bedford and was a member of the Grange for 50 years. She enjoyed her cat named Pumpkin and puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter Edythe Wilkie of Boothbay Harbor, ME, her sisters, Florence Hart of Somerville and Marjorie Keizer of Shirley, 4 grandchildren, Richard, Chris, Robert and William Wilkie, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Sun., Sept. 21, from 2-4 P.M. Burial will at Shawsheen Cemetery on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 2:00 P.M.
