Dorothy L. Smith, 95, of Lady Lake, Florida, formerly of Bedford and Essex died in Florida on September 19, 2020.  She moved to Florida in 1989.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Harold B. and Louisa (Russell) Wood and wife of the late Stephen W. Smith who died in 1990. She was the sister of Barbara J. Bohnwagner of Essex and the late Marjorie Bradbury and Harold B. Wood, Jr. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

Before retiring to Florida, she was employed as a secretary by Raytheon Employees Federal Credit Union. She was also a member of the Essex Congregational Church.

Dorothy loved to cook all her own healthy meals, drove her car, played the organ and made clothes for her many antique dolls. She was a very special lady and loved her church and church family. She will be sorely missed.

Private graveside services are planned at the Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
