Dorothy (Dori) M. (Brooks) Davis of Carlisle and West Falmouth, MA, formerly of Cambridge, MA, passed away on April 8th at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. Cherished wife of Stephen F. Davis and beloved mother of Meredith Brooks Davis of Carlisle, MA., loving sister to John F. Brooks of Windsor, VT and Elizabeth M. Brooks of West Falmouth, MA. Beloved daughter of the late George B. Brooks and Mary K. (Falvey) Brooks of Cambridge, MA. Dori is survived by many cousins in New Hampshire and the greater Boston area.
Dori was born and raised in Cambridge, attended St. Peters Grammar and high School. She was a graduate of Cambridge High & Latin. Dori earned a BS in Education at Framingham State Teachers College and served as her alumni class treasurer for many years. Following graduation she pursued a career in financing, becoming the first female manager at Northeast Federal Savings Bank. Her diligence and acumen in finance secured her promotion to position of Branch Manager for Concord Cooperative Bank. Subsequently she served as a vice president at Middlesex Savings Bank, Concord MA. She was invited to join the Concord Rotary Club as public recognition for her accomplishments in the community. She served as Treasurer, Old Home Day, Carlisle, for many years.
Dori eventually decided to pursue her passion as a mentor by teaching at Nashoba Brooks School in Concord, MA where she became a valued and respected member of the teaching staff for many years. She shared her gifts of compassion, endurance, and courage and maintained her steadfast sense of nurturing by honoring her students many talents. She will be fondly remembered by her colleagues, her students and her many friends and neighbors for her incredible gift of humor, optimism, and her generosity of spirit.

A celebration of her life will be held for her relatives and friends on April 23, 2016 in Bedford from 1pm (a service), and 1:30 – 5:00 pm visiting hours, at Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd. (Rte 4-225), Bedford, MA.
