Donna J. Hetherington 81, of Bonita Springs died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 8, 2016. She had been a resident of Bonita Springs since 2000 coming from West Newton, MA. Donna was born on May 25, 1935 in Littleton, ME a daughter of the late Lyman and Verna (neé Melvin) Wood.

She received her Bachelor's degree in accounting from the Ricker College in Houlton, ME and then joined The Dodge Company in Cambridge, MA. She worked for 25 plus years for Dodge in their Accounting and Human Resource Department retiring in 2000.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Debra Burns (Joseph) of Bonita Springs, FL and Leslie Yerardi (Richard) of Rindge, NH; her brother, Wendell Wood of Houlton, ME; 3 grandchildren, Kenneth Burns, Kelly Burns Whitney and Andrea Ferguson; 3 great grandchildren, Katelyn and Ryan Whitney and Alessia Ciccone and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frederick C. Hetherington who died May 11, 2015.

A memorial service to celebrate her life was held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Sunday, September 25, from 2:00-5:00 PM. There will be a graveside service at Westview Cemetery, 520 Bedford St., Lexington, on Monday, September 26, at 11:30 AM.
