Donald F. Cooney, 94, of Billerica died on January 26, 2021, in Wilmington.

Mr. Cooney was born in Somerville on March 1, 1926, and he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Dempsey) Cooney.

He was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School.

During World War II, he served in the Army from 1945 to 1946.

He was employed by Millipore as a customer service representative and retired from the company in 1992.

Mr. Cooney was longtime parishioner at St. Michael Church in Bedford where he served as an usher. He was also member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rose (Giorgio) Cooney. Loving father of Keith E. Cooney of Billerica and dear grandfather of Meghan Rose Byron of CA. Brother of the late Edward and Paul Cooney and Catherine Conroy and Margaret Campbell. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Church in Bedford.
