Diane Maynard Cameron, of Bedford, died on February 1, 2021.
Beloved wife of James, mother of Donald Cameron of RI and Betsy Cameron of Arlington, loving grandmother of Wes, Raine, and Sebastian.
Diane is also survived by her sisters, Linda Muller, and her husband Ed of Weymouth, and Carol Farrell, and her husband David of Rockland; her brothers, Tim Maynard, and his wife Kathy of Weymouth, and Tom Maynard, and his wife Debbie of Plaistow NH; her father-in-law, James Cameron of Quincy; and her sister-in-law, Laura Spencer and husband George of Williamsport PA and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Lorraine and Harry A Maynard and her mother-in-law, Ruth Cameron.
Diane was a long-time resident of Bedford, Mass but grew up in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School in 1968. While in Weymouth she was active in the Pilgrim Congregational Church as a teen and served as a deacon in the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Bedford. After graduating from Simmons College and marrying James in 1975, Diane had a successful banking career, working at BayBank, BankBoston and Fleet Bank until retiring in 2000.
Diane had a great love for her family and took pleasure in maintaining close contact with cousins, aunts and uncles, and other relations. After her mother's passing in 2010, Diane took over the roles of communicator and family event planner, making sure to keep everyone informed as to what was happening in each other's lives. Diane also had a passion for music. Family events at her home almost always included singing and a special combination of Christmas carols accompanied by Diane's piano playing during the holidays.
The family will be holding an online wake from 3 to 6 PM on Saturday, February 6. Contact a family member for details.
