Debra Ford Mondello, 64, of Chelmsford, and formerly of Bedford, died on March 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She will be missed dearly by her devoted husband, Jay Mondello; her three sons, Daniel and his wife Allison, Timothy and his wife Alyssa, and Keith and his partner, Candice Guerin and their son, Cole; her siblings, Robert Ford and his wife Mary, Patricia Ford Plummer and her husband Larry, David Ford and his wife Lynn, sister-in-law, Ginny Ford, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, her aunt, and countless friends.

Raised in Watertown, she was the daughter of the late Patrick B. and Helen (Barrett) Ford, and sister of the late Brian Ford.

Debbie was a graduate of Watertown High School, class of 1974. She attended Westfield State College and graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and later earned a master's degree at Emerson College. Debbie had a long career as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, most recently at the Marshall Middle School in Billerica, and previously at Carleton-Willard Village in Bedford, the Greenery Rehabilitation Center, and the Visiting Nurse Association.

Debbie was an avid reader, dog lover, and comedic lyricist who loved writing songs and poems for her family's enjoyment. She delighted in sharing her summer home in Bridgton, ME with her family, friends, and dogs. Above all, Debbie was most thrilled by the happiness of her three sons, their shared bond, and their devotion to family.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Sunday, March 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the interior capacity of the funeral home is at 50%. We respectfully ask that you pay your respects and then exit to allow other to do the same. Social distancing and facial coverings are required in and outside of the funeral home.
