David A. Gaulin of Bedford, died on Oct. 9, at the West Roxbury VA Hospital.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Joseph and Theda (Pelkey) Gaulin. He was raised and educated in Worcester and attended Commerce High School.
He entered the United States Army in 1954, during the Korean Conflict, and served as a tank driver and tank commander overseas in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1957.
David loved to drive, and he drove an 18-wheel truck hauling trailers. He drove locally for 12 years and long haul for 35 years. He was a hauler to 48 states. He lived in Arizona for 15 years and he was an adventurer who prospected for gold, hunted rattle snakes for their venom and skin and enjoyed camping in the Arizona dessert under the stars.
David was outgoing and always looking for his next adventure, which included being an extra in the movie "Posse" (1975) which starred Kirk Douglas and "Fire in the Sky" (1978) which starred Richard Crenna.
Dedicated to his family, he shared with them his favorite pastimes of Red Sox baseball, boating, fishing, camping and cookouts.
Those left behind to cherish the legacy of his life are his wife, Sandra Gaulin and his former wife, Antonietta Caruso Gaulin, daughters, Angela Gregorio and Christine Poske, son, Anthony Gaulin, sister, Patricia Cooney, brother, Michael Gaulin, sister-in-law, Mary Rose Gaulin, stepdaughter, Jodi Lennon and her husband, Dan and great grandson Connor Lennon and his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Fri., Nov. 8, at 11:30 AM, at the Chapel of the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, 200 Springs Rd., Bldg., 61, Bedford, MA 01730.
