Daniel Edward McDonnell of Bedford, MA, 59, passed away on January 20, 2013, after a lengthy illness.

He was born to the late Edward T. McDonnell and Mary R. (McMahan) McDonnell of Bedford, MA on December 27, 1953, in Concord, MA. Daniel graduated from Bedford High School in 1972. While attending Bedford High School, Daniel was a standout member of the basketball team.

He was employed in many fields during his lifetime, but most recently was a customer service representative for Verizon for many years.

Daniel, known to many as "Danny," enjoyed sports, traveling and animals. Danny could always be counted on for a funny story and a good natured practical joke. He will be remembered for his kindness, his wonderful sense of humor, warm personality, infectious laugh, and the love he had for his family and friends.


Daniel is survived by his mother, Mary R. McDonnell of Bedford, as well as his sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Kenneth Busa of Bedford, brother and sister-in-law Martin and Candy McDonnell of Bedford, and sister and brother-in-law Theresa and James Blake of Chelmsford. He was the devoted uncle of Katie Busa, Timothy Busa, Tara Busa, Andrew Busa, Daniel McDonnell, Patrick McDonnell and Kelly McDonnell. He is also survived by his loving uncles, aunts and cousins.

His funeral will be held from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, Thurs., Jan., 24, at 8:00 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass at Saint Michael's Church, 90 Concord Rd. Bedford at 9:00 A.M. Visitation will be at the Bedford Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 23, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
