Claire A. Dutra, 87, of Bedford, died in Lexington on December 4, 2022.

She was born in Somerville on January 11, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Augustus and Agnes (Slowe) Dutra.

Claire was a graduate of Somerville High School and was employed in the insurance industry as a secretary and later worked for many years at Admiral Metals in Woburn.

She was a faithful parishioner at St. Michael Church in Bedford and enjoyed music and bowling in her earlier years.

Those who knew Claire will always remember her kind heart, sweet personality and her strong faith in God.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Richard and Philip Dutra and her sister-in-law Joan (Fitzpatrick) Dutra.

She is survived by her sister, Mary "Marie" Dutra of Bedford; she is also survived by her four nieces with whom she was very close to and who loved her dearly; Meg Flaherty and her partner Michael Michaud; Joanne Murphy and her husband Tim; Susan Kimmell; and Pam Brady and her husband Tom; and 12 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, on Wednesday, December 14, at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass, beginning at 9:00 AM, at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford.

Interment will be in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford, MA.
