Christopher John Burak, age 76, of Carlisle, MA, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, April 4, 2015.
He was born on November 6, 1938, to parents Genevieve and Joseph. He was married to the love of his life, Beverly Foss Burak, on October 5, 1956. Together, they built their family home and tended their three acre garden constantly throughout their lives, also tending to their vegetable stand, which they annually shared with the community.
He devoted a long and hardworking life to public service, working his adult life as a police officer, firefighter, and member of the Department of Public Works for the town of Carlisle, until his retirement in 2000. He instilled the values of diligence and hard work in his children and grandchildren. He was a tremendous family man, always looking forward to family holidays on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and his annual Kentucky Derby party.
He was incredibly involved in the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks (BPOE) since 1981, serving as Exalted Ruler of the Chelmsford Elks Lodge in 1998-99.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Beverly Burak, his three children, Steven, Susan and Christopher, as well as his loving grandchildren. His tremendous wit and caring nature will be missed most by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Thurs., April 9, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Burial will be private.
