Obituary

Charles H. Taylor Jr., 86, of Lexington, died on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the E. N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford.

Mr. Taylor was born and raised in Cambridge and was the son of the late Charles H. and Mildred (Cummings) Taylor.

He was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1954.

He was employed by Stop & Shop stores as a store manager in many locations until his retirement.

Mr. Taylor was a member for 55 years of the Amicable Lodge A.F & A.M. of Cambridge and was a District Deputy Past Master of the Cambridge Second Masonic District.

He was the husband of the late Eva Lorraine (Mercer) Taylor who died in 2011 and brother of the late Richard Taylor, Norma Taylor and June (Taylor) Putnam.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his son, Charles III of Jersey City, New Jersey, daughter-in-law, Stephanie Zacharek, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles and Ellen Mercer, Janet Mercer and Morley Hodder and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wed., April 12, at Trinity Covenant Church, 7 Clematis Rd., Lexington at 10:00 A.M.

Visitation at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Tues. April 11, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Interment will be in Westview Cemetery in Lexington.
