She was born on February 7, 1936, in Michigan, and as a young girl, also lived in Virginia, Rhode Island and Ohio. She attended Ohio State University and worked at the university hospital in Columbus where she met her husband, Bill Brown, who was a pharmaceutical representative at the time. She worked on many activities at the church and around the town green, which were constant centers of her young family's activities over the years. She was a member of the New England Quilter's Guild, and she had coordinated a quilt work with other Carlisle women, which won a Boston Bicentennial Award in 1975. The quilt will be on display at the First Religious Society during the week and at her funeral on Friday morning.
