Cecelia J. (Teed) Norland, passed peacefully on July 12, with her daughter by her side at the age of 91.
Devoted mother of Christine Norland Donovan and her husband Michael of Bedford, MA, Robert Norland and his partner Linne Humbargar of Littleton, NH, William Norland and his partner Holly Tippett of Starksboro, VT, Luke Norland and his wife Petra of Steamboat Springs, CO. Cecelia was a proud and loving grandmother to Christopher Donovan, Nicholas Donovan, Sierra Nicole Martin, Spencer Norland, Ariel Martin, Connor Norland, and Kelsey Norland. Beloved cousin of Joan Chittister of Erie, PA. She was lovingly referred to as "SIS" by her three brothers Vincent, Edward, and Robert Teed, who all preceded her in death. Cecelia leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Born in DuBois, PA and raised in Erie, PA. Cecelia was a member of Villa Marie Academy, Class of 1950 and attended Gannon College.
After marrying Kenneth Norland (Deceased) they moved to the Boston area and raised their family in Belmont, MA. While raising four children she served on the Belmont School Committee for 6 years and donated her time at several art associations over the years.
Vacations were many and spent canoeing, hiking, skiing, sightseeing, enjoying various culinary delights.
Following her separation from Kenneth and raising her kids, Cecelia enjoyed employment in the Greater Boston Real Estate market well into her 70's.
She loved spending time with her artistic friends and lunching with her many realtor friends. The New England outdoors and especially Franconia, NH were Cecelia's special place, vacationing there often with her grandchildren and enjoying spoiling them while they were together.
Cecelia's true lifelong passions were family, friends, cooking, gardening, art & ceramics.
Friends and family visiting hours will be Tuesday, July 19, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Road, Bedford, MA.
A private family memorial service will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/).
