Catherine E. Barbieri, 76, of Bedford died peacefully on May 7, 2015.

Mrs. Barbieri was born in Boston on September 8, 1938, and she was the only child of the late Alfred A. and Elizabeth (Ford) Jackson.

She was raised in Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School in 1956. It was here that she met her husband, Salvatore Barbieri Jr. Married in 1959, they shared fifty-four years together until his death in June of 2013.

Known to her family and friends as " Kay" she had worked in the Bedford Public Schools for ten years and later worked at The Center where she made many enduring friendships.

She will be remembered for her quick wit and loyalty. She had many friends that enriched her life greatly. She was a devoted grandmother never missing a sporting event or school activity. She loved having family and friends to her summer home in Maine where many fond memories were made.

She is survived by three sons, Mark and his wife, Nancy of Bedford, David Barbieri also of Bedford and Paul Barbieri of Burlington and four grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Paul Steven and Joseph. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Holley Christiansen Barbieri.

Her funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Bedford, on Tues., May 12, at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, on Mon., May 11, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Interment will be in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford.
