Carol L. Ward, 62, of Bedford, died suddenly on November 1, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Harold and Johanna (Sturmer) Ward.

Carol attended Bedford Public Schools and went on to graduate from the University of Massachusetts South Dartmouth with a degree in Business with a concentration in accounting.

Throughout her career, Carol worked as an accountant for several companies, most recently at Phillips, where she remained until her retirement a few years ago.

Carol was an avid reader and a long-time member of her book club. She had a great sense of humor. An absurd situation, comic, or joke could send her into long extended fits of uncontrollable laughter. Her family grew quite adept at finding these triggers and dropping them in her path at unexpected moments. Being an active thinker, Carol had a naturally curious mind and loved to explore subjects and topics that caught her interest, often doing what she called “Deep Dives” which could last several weeks. She especially treasured time spent with family, where some of her favorite moments were shared over games of Scrabble.

She was a naturally kind person without a mean bone in her body and a truly good soul.

She is survived by her brother, Neal Ward and his wife Monique of Groton, her nieces, Catherine and Samantha and 3 grandnieces. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Ward.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., on Sunday, November 8, from 2:00-4:00 PM.
