Carol R. McClatchey, of Bedford, on August 28, 2022, passed away in Lexington, after a long illness.

She is survived by her parents, Bob and Sharon, her sister Andrea McClatchey and her nephew, Russell Smith.

Throughout her life music was a part of her being, and she was a lover of nature, animals and photography.  Friends will remember her as a member of the high school jazz band, head majorette, diver and gymnast.  At Ithaca College she was a member of the Symphonic Band.  After graduation from UMass Amherst with a degree in Communications and Art History she worked at Bedford Cable and then at Disney World, Orlando where she worked on the set of Indiana Jones and learned pyrotechnics.  After returning to Massachusetts, she was employed by firms in Andover, Burlington, Chelmsford and Acton.

She is deeply missed by her family and friends, will gather outdoors at The First Parish in Bedford, 75 Great Rd., on Saturday, September 24, at 11:00 AM to honor her life. Her lifelong interest in animals suggests that donations in her name be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals , 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
