Audrey R. O' Connell, 82, of Bedford, died in Concord following a brief illness on September 21, 2014.

Mrs. O'Connell was born in Woburn on January 6, 1932, and she was the daughter of the late Harold L. and Norma M. (Rathbun) MacFarlane.

She was raised in Woburn and lived in Natick before making Bedford her home in 1956.

For many years she was a homemaker, but after her children entered school she was employed by Briley and King in Lexington and in the early 1970s at the Middle School in Bedford.

She loved spending time with her family and friends and also enjoyed bingo, gardening, reading, knitting and visiting Nahant beach, Aruba, Bermuda and her favorite destination York beach, Maine.

Mrs. O'Connell is survived by her husband, William F. O'Connell, her son Kevin M. O'Connell and his wife, Nancy of Hollis, NH, daughter, Kathleen M. LaPointe and her husband Daniel of Andover, two granddaughters, Lindsey M. O'Connell and Lauren M. O'Connell and a great grandson, Ethan Daniel Ross.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Thurs., Sept. 25, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. followed by a brief service at 7:15 P.M.

Burial will be private.
