Annette M. Barker, 88, of Bedford, MA, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on January 26, 2014.

Mrs. Barker (nee Mulcahy or Mulcahey) was born in Boston, MA on May 27, 1925, to the late Thomas F. and Mary M. (Glynn) Mulcahy. She was raised in Jamaica Plain and Dorchester and was a graduate of the Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester.

Annette married Harry R. Barker Jr. in 1951 and after a brief period living in Boston, they moved to Bedford in 1952 to raise a family. After raising her five children, she worked at various jobs outside the home including the Post Office, Amicon Corp., Jordan Marsh Co. and Macy's Corp. She enjoyed volunteer work at the Bedford voting polls for many years. She was a member of St. Michael Parish in Bedford for 61 years.

Mrs. Barker was predeceased by her husband Harry and her daughter, Susan G. Barker.

She is survived by her children and their families, Richard Barker and his wife, Laurie and their daughters, Katie and Emma of Chelmsford; Linda Couto and her husband, Joe of Pleasanton, CA and their children Nicole and Tyler; Douglas Barker and his wife, Susan Whoriskey and their daughters, Anna and Juliet of Belmont; Jan Penagos and her husband, Roldan and their children, Dylan and Siena of Menlo Park, CA. She was sister of the late Virginia Hernon of Braintree, Dorothea DeFeo of Easton, the late Francis Mulcahy, Eleanor DeLuco of Brighton, Madeline Moreira of West Bridgewater, Laurence Mulcahy and the late Claire Johnson of Tilton, NH.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home Friday, January 31, 2014 from 1:00 - 3:00pm and from 5:00 – 7:00pm. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 8:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Michael Parish, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9:00 A.M.

Interment will be in Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
