Albert Nabedian, 99, of Bedford, MA and formerly of Lexington, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Beloved husband of Laura (Avedisian). Loving father of Gary Nabedian of Bedford, MA; Andrea Coan and her husband Richard of Scituate, MA; and Roger Nabedian and his wife Megan of San Francisco, CA. Cherished grandfather of Melanie and Troy Coan. He was the son of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Nazarian) Nahabedian; brother of the late Lucy Attarian and her husband C. James of Brooklyn, NY and the late Rose Koundakjian and her husband Richard of Bedford, MA. Also survived by his cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In high school, Al studied commercial art because he had a flair for drawing. He also developed a love of music and played violin in the school orchestra. His love of music resulted in him serving as Choir Director for the Armenian Memorial Church in Watertown for many years.

Al was very athletic and loved to play tennis with his friends every Sunday morning during the summer months; in the winter they would play indoors. When tennis became too difficult for him, he started playing golf.

Al learned auto mechanics during his four years in the U. S. Army's Military Intelligence Division during World War II. He used those skills during his ownership of several automotive-related businesses until he retired. He owned Al's Atlantic Service on Concord Avenue in Belmont, and later moved his business to Countryside in Lexington. After a few years at his Lexington location, he rented a small building adjacent to the service station and started Lexington Auto Parts. As his business expanded, he had a new larger building built in Burlington and operated his business at this location from 1963 to 1997.

After retirement he volunteered in the Radiology Department of Lahey Hospital in Burlington.

Al and Laura had a swimming pool installed behind their home in Lexington, and frequently entertained friends and family during the summer months. Many summer days were spent playing volleyball, swimming, and having cookouts with friends and extended family. If it was a nice summer day, he would feel guilty if they didn't invite guests to enjoy the pool. Al and Laura loved to travel, and enjoyed dozens of trips and cruises with friends and family over the years.
